Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Early on, while living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was impossible to take enough out of it. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell spent a time in Italy taking classes at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of children who are struggling. Additionally, she is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate where she raises awareness about young diabetics. As an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to speak about her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
